This 6-week beginner workshop is designed for anyone who’s ever wanted to try their hand at the potter’s wheel! With no prior clay experience required, you’ll learn the fundamentals of centering, shaping, trimming, and glazing while creating functional pieces such as cups, bowls, and mugs. Each class blends demonstrations with plenty of hands-on practice, so you’ll gain both the technical skills and the confidence to keep exploring wheel throwing beyond this course.
Students who have prior experience are also welcome! Returning potters will have the chance to refresh their foundations, work at their own pace, and receive individual tutoring on building their skills and tackling new challenges.
By the end of the 6 weeks, you’ll have a collection of finished pottery and a solid foundation in the wheel throwing process—from raw clay to glazed and fired work.
This class meets once a week for six weeks on Tuesday mornings from 10:00am - 1:00pm.
