FAQs
Do I need to have experience with pottery to take a class?
Not at all! We have tons of beginner-friendly classes you can try out, as well as the option to take your own custom-tailored private lessons.
Where is Dirt Cake Studios located?
Dirt Cake Studios does not currently have a brick-and-mortar studio space. If you are interested in taking classes with Sean, he offers a variety of classes and private lessons at two different locations in Portland: Afterglow Pottery and Past Lives. If there’s something else we can help you with, please reach out at info@dirtcakestudios.com and we will get back to you as soon as possible!
Why did you choose the name Dirt Cake?
Dirt Cake Studios is rooted in a life-long artistic pursuit of whimsy, wonder, and joy. The classic childhood treat of dirt cake (commonly made with chocolate pudding, crushed Oreos, and colorful gummy worms) is a fitting representation of what can come out of these kinds of pursuits.
Is Dirt Cake Studios a pottery studio?
While we do offer a variety of pottery-related services, we are not a pottery studio in the classic sense and we do not offer studio space that people can gain access to through membership. Dirt Cake Studios is an overarching creative endeavor encompassing a range of different artistic mediums and practices.
